Inanna for Inner Strength
Before she decided, she took all her ornaments of power the seven symbols of her queenship. She put on her head the desert crown, put tiny lapis beads around her neck and longer lapis beads, dark and sleek, fell to her breast where too perfect oval jewels made a bewitching breastplate. Took in her hand the measuring rod and the measuring line, put on her wrist the golden ring. Shadowing her eyes with seductive kohl, drawing over her shoulders the rope of heaven, the goddess Inanna begin her journey, began her descent into hell. Heaven is mine, the earth is mine. I am a warrior am I. Is there a God who can conquer me? The gods are sparrows I am a hawk. The gods trudge along like oxen I am a splendid wild cow.
